Start anywhere. Stop anywhere. You are never committed beyond the stage you choose.

The methodology

What the Score measures

Every asset is assessed against the same four pillars and resolved to a single figure between 0 and 100. The same framework applies whether the asset is a trademark, a patent, or a protected name.

I

Registration Quality

The legal foundation. Filing and renewal standing, classes covered, jurisdictional reach, opposition and cancellation history, and the integrity of the chain of title.

II

Distinctiveness

The strength of the mark itself. Inherent or acquired distinctiveness, descriptiveness exposure, the density of the surrounding field, and how defensible the right is in practice.

III

Deal Readiness

Whether the asset can actually move. Clean title, encumbrances and existing licences, completeness of documentation, and how close the file is to withstanding a buyer's diligence.

IV

Commercial Use

Evidence that the right is doing work in the market. Demonstrable use, revenue associated with the asset, geographic footprint, and the trajectory behind it.

Every introduction NDA-gated; no direct contact before a formal, approved introduction.

Full spectrum

All six IP asset classes

One practice, complete from the first day. Every asset class assessed with the same four-pillar methodology and recorded in the comparable database.

Trademarks

The most widely held IP asset and the least examined. A registered mark carrying genuine market recognition is often the most transferable thing a business owns — and the thing its owner has never had valued.

EUIPO · USPTO · WIPO · IPO · GCC · KIPO · CNIPA

€450–€1,750

Domain Portfolios

Rarely treated as intellectual property, frequently worth more than the balance sheet suggests. Assessed on the name itself and on what stands behind it: age, extension, traffic, and any matching registered mark.

WHOIS · Sedo · Flippa · NameBio

€450 + bundle

Patents

Value follows the claims, not the certificate. Assessment turns on claim scope, remaining term, family coverage across jurisdictions, and whether the invention is actually being practised in a market.

USPTO · EPO · WIPO PATENTSCOPE · CNIPA · JPO

€800–€2,500

Industrial Designs

Protection for the shape and appearance of a product. Quick to obtain, routinely omitted from valuation, and decisive where the design itself is the reason the customer buys.

EUIPO (RCD) · Hague System · USPTO

€450–€1,750

Trade Secrets

No registry, no certificate — the value rests entirely on the discipline of protection. Assessment examines what is genuinely secret, how it is contained, and whether that containment would survive scrutiny.

Client documentation · NDA required

€3,500–€8,000

Geographical Indications

A collective right held by the producers of a region. The value is shared, strongly defensible, and tied to origin — which makes licensing, not sale, the route to realising it.

EU GI Register · WIPO GI Database

€1,200–€3,500

Personally signs the documents that matterAssessments, valuations, term sheets, and deal agreements

Most owners of valuable intellectual property have never been told what it is worth, or what they could do with it.

For decades, serious IP advice — valuation, licensing strategy, deal structuring — has been the preserve of large corporations with in-house counsel and the budgets to match. The brand owner with a strong registered mark, the inventor with a granted patent, the producer with a protected name: all of them hold real commercial assets, and almost none of them have ever received structured advice about it.

Filasson exists to close that gap. It pairs a credentialed legal practice with a scoring and delivery platform, so that institutional-quality IP assessment can be delivered selectively, quickly, and at a price that makes sense for a single asset. The platform does the groundwork. The judgment — and the signature on every document that matters — is mine.

Professional standard

The documents that matter.
Personally signed.

The difference between a platform report and a professional opinion is the practitioner behind it. Every document that carries legal or commercial weight — the assessment, the valuation memo, the term sheet, the deal agreement — is personally reviewed and signed by Christos Dimitriou.

Routine platform paperwork runs through the platform. But the documents a client takes into a negotiation, a boardroom, or a due diligence process carry a named attorney's signature and professional accountability.
